Government, military, and commercial organizations around the world rely on GNSS/GPS to provide precise positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) data for situational awareness. However, recent events in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz reveal growing vulnerabilities to operations and safety when adversaries disrupt those satellite signals.
PntGuard™ Maritime, an APNT by Naltec solution, is designed to eliminate these risks and safeguard navigational integrity for commercial maritime vessels by providing true positioning when GNSS fails. This first-of-its kind solution combines real-time GNSS/GPS jamming and spoofing detection with an authenticated and fully independent PNT signal.
PntGuard™ Maritime comprises two compact components – an above-deck receiver that leverages a PNT signal approximately 1,000 times stronger than GNSS and a below-deck display that shows both the falsified GPS track and the vessel’s true position on a nautical chart in real time. This self-contained system bridges defense-grade resilience with commercial simplicity to form a trusted navigation backbone in GNSS-denied environments.
The innovative maritime security solution has been validated through successful live jammer tests and 100,000+ nautical miles of monitored sea trials, proving the capability from concept to operational service. PntGuard™ Maritime was also recently chosen as an approved solution for Norwegian maritime insurer DNK’s war risk tracking program.
