The Army PIT Program
The Army Pathway for Innovation and Technology (PIT) serves as the Army’s mechanism to integrate innovation into capability development and acquisition execution. PIT is a critical component of the Army’s Acquisition Reform and a disciplined, Soldier-driven channel designed to rapidly bridge the gap between emerging concepts and scaled operational capabilities. PIT delivers on the modernization mission by optimizing, synchronizing, and accelerating innovation pipelines, ensuring emerging technologies are deployed faster, prototyped with Soldier feedback, and scaled for battlefield readiness.
PIT serves as a central hub that integrates the efforts of Army FUZE, the Joint Innovation Outpost (JIOP), and the Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD). Together, these programs engage commercial and defense ecosystems, interface with warfighters, and synchronize efforts to address Army capability gaps. This construct enhances the Army’s ability to accelerate fielding timelines, reduce bureaucratic friction, and embed innovation directly into acquisition execution.
