THOR — Tactical, High-Performance Embedded Computing, Open Architecture, Rugged — is a SOSA-aligned 3U VPX embedded computing chassis that delivers high-performance processing at the tactical edge. Purpose-built for combat vehicles and tactical platforms, THOR provides the computing backbone crews need to run artificial intelligence, fuse multi-sensor data, and make faster decisions under fire, without reach-back to a network a peer adversary is actively working to deny.
The 4+1 slot configuration hosts an I/O-intensive single board computer, a high-speed Ethernet switch, two generic payload slots, and an integrated VITA 62 power supply in a 25-pound, 6.1" x 8.5" x 11.7" package requiring less than half the Standard A-kit Vehicle Envelope space claim. Internal data rates reach 100 Gbps. Supported payloads include Intel and Arm processors, GPU accelerators, and digital signal processing modules.
Alignment with SOSA and the Modular Open Systems Approach lets program offices insert new processors and mission payloads as threats evolve, without chassis redesign, integration software rewrites, or full system requalification. VICTORY and MORA compliant interfaces and backward compatibility with deployed vehicle cabling reduce integration cost and accelerate fielding.
Engineered to MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, and ATPD-2404, THOR operates from -46 °C to +71 °C through the shock, vibration, and electromagnetic conditions that defeat commercial hardware. It is available as a configurable chassis kit for rapid prototyping and competitive evaluation, or as a fully integrated Leonardo DRS subsystem with a clear path from demonstration to full-rate production.
