Q. Where and when is the AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition (GFSE)?
The 2020 GFSE returns to Huntsville, Alabama from 17-19 March 2020 at the Von Braun Center, 700 Monroe Street Huntsville, Alabama 35801.
 

Q. Who is speaking in the general session?
AUSA guarantees a dynamic range of speakers from the Army, DoD, and industry related to the future of the Army. Stay up-to-date with the latest program developments by viewing the 2020 program agenda.
 

Q. Who can attend the event?
The AUSA GFSE is not open to the public. As a private association, AUSA reserves the right to deny admission or to cancel any admission without explanation. All registrants must provide proof of identity by a Government-issued photographic ID (military ID, valid US driver’s license, civilian CAC card, or Passport) and must demonstrate that they have an “identifiable relationship” with the U.S. Army. Following are examples of acceptable demonstrations of such a relationship:

  • Membership in AUSA
  • Employee of an exhibiting company
  • Government-contracted employees with documented proof of a contractual relationship
  • Invited guest of an exhibiting company on exhibiting company letterhead
  • Employee of an AUSA National Partner or Community Partner
  • Member of any component of the U.S. military
  • Civilian employee of the Federal Government
  • Member of an accredited Federal, State, or Municipal law enforcement agency, a firefighter, or an EMT/EMS
  • Member of a designated U.S. military or veteran association
  • Member of the military forces of foreign nations with passport
  • Any escorted guest of an AUSA Member
  •  

Q. When and where can I register?

Early pricing, pre-registration is open from 9 December 2019 - 11 March 2020. Starting on 16 March 2020, all registration will be at the Von Braun Center.

Q. How do I get to the Von Braun Center? 
From I-65 (North or South)  
Take Exit 340 to Huntsville I-565 headed East. Travel approximately 19 miles to exit 19-C to Washington Street. Turn right on Washington Street, cross over the bridge to the first traffic light – Monroe Street. Turn right onto Monroe Street and travel to the 3rd traffic light (Clinton Avenue). To reach the Ticket Office and additional handicap parking, continue south on Monroe Street. The Ticket Office and additional handicap parking is on the right. To reach the North Hall or South Hall Parking Garage, turn right (west) on Clinton Avenue from Monroe Street. The North Hall is on your left or continue to the next traffic light and turn left on Pollard Avenue to access the South Hall Parking Garage.



Entering Huntsville from 72 West (from Scottsboro)  Take exit 19-A to Jefferson Street after Highway 72 West merges into I-565. Follow Jefferson Street to the first red light at Monroe Street, and turn right. Stay on Monroe until you come to the Clinton Avenue red light. You can turn right on Clinton to go the North Hall parking area (it will be on your left) or continue on Clinton and take a left on Pollard Street to access the South Hall Parking Garage. Continue on Monroe Street to access the Ticket Office and additional handicap parking which will be on your right


From Guntersville, Highway 431 West   431 west will become Governors Drive. Follow Governors Drive across California Street and past Huntsville Hospital on your right. Turn right at the traffic light at Monroe Street. Go through the light at St. Clair, and turn left at the next light to stay on Monroe. The Ticket Office and additional handicap parking will be on your left in front of the VBC. For North Hall parking turn left at the Clinton Avenue light, North Hall parking will be on your left. For the South Hall Parking Garage, continue on Clinton Avenue and take a left on Pollard Street.


Q. Is parking available at the Von Braun Center? 
Parking in VBC lots is $10 a day unless otherwise noted.  Please note that parking will be affected during the VBC Expansion project. Visit VBC Parking for current parking instructions.


South Hall Parking Garage (P2) is a covered garage providing protection from weather and access to all venues with convenience to South Hall events. Access is from Clinton Avenue, turn onto Pollard Street and follow signs.

North Hall Parking Lot (P1) has convenient access to North Hall, Concert Hall and Playhouse events. Access is from Clinton Avenue.

Box Office and Administrative Office Parking (P3) has convenient handicapped access to the Concert Hall, East Hall and Arena events. Access is from Clinton Avenue, turn south on Monroe Street and take the first right into the front parking lot.

City Parking The Monroe Street parking garage is accessible from Monroe Street and Church Street and will open to accommodate event activity.

Former Meadow Gold Lot (P5) The lot is accessible from Clinton Avenue.


Q. What is the Dress Code?
Military presenters are asked to wear Class A, Army Service Uniform (ASU)/Army Greens and civilian presenters are asked to wear business attire. All attendees may wear duty uniform/civilian business attire.


Q. May I escort high school students to the show?
Yes, we highly encourage students who are interested in our Army to attend our exhibit hall. Please contact our registrar, Suzanne McCollum for information on obtaining badges for student groups.


Q. How do I book a hotel room? 
AUSA has rooms blocked for GFSE 2020, please visit this link to book your hotel room: GFSE Housing.


Q. Can I obtain professional development credit? 
AUSA’s commitment to professional development includes seminars and special presentations on the issues affecting today’s Army. Please refer to the symposium agenda for the latest schedule. Army National Guard and United States Army Reserve personnel attending program sessions are authorized one retirement credit for each day’s attendance if at least four hours are spent in program sessions in uniform (reference NGR 680-2 and Army Regulations 140-1 and 140-185). Recommend personnel be placed on orders in a non-pay status to document time.

Q. How do I schedule a pop-up meeting room at the Center?
Bookings will be taken on-site at the cashier counter, registration area, in South Hall and rooms will be provided first come, first served basis.

Q. Will breakfast and lunch be provided during GFSE 2020?
Morning coffee service with light refreshments will be served from 0700 - 0800 in the Concert Hall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning.  Lunch concessions will be available for purchase in the Arena Lobby.  Please see the agenda insert for times

Q. Where is coat check?
Coat check is in the hallway between East and South Hall.

Q. Will there be an xTechSearch and Innovators Corner?
 Yes, the xTechSearch and Innovators Corner will be located in North Hall.  More information coming soon.
