Electrak XD Electric Linear Actuator
The Thomson Electrak® XD marks a major evolutionary leap for electric linear actuators, giving motion system designers a more cost-effective option to replace hydraulic cylinders. The strongest electric actuator Thomson has ever built, the XD is tough enough to take on new hydraulic applications while, simultaneously, being smarter, smaller and more efficient than competitive technologies.
Among the many performance features of the Electrak XD are load handling up to 25,000 N for a combined power output of more than 450 W, operating speeds of up to 75 mm/sec, strokes up to 1200 mm, duty cycle up to 100%, and life up to 275,000 cycles. Additional benefits that make the XD an obvious choice for conversions include an internal holding brake, optional shock load dampening, manual override in case of power failure, constant monitoring and diagnostics, increased controllability with exact speed, position and force control, and reduced overall system weight.
An Electrak XD actuator and a switch will help machine designers basically replace an entire hydraulic system – cylinder, pipes, valves, pumps and oil reservoirs – saving both space and weight. With onboard controls, the XD is easier to control, allowing end users to perform tasks that are difficult to near impossible with a hydraulic system. With electrification, users can also enjoy reduced complexity, maintenance- and mess-free operation, reduced energy costs, a greener solution, and cleaner, safer and weatherproof operation. All of these benefits make the XD ideal for many applications, including material handling, transit mobility, agriculture and forestry, and factory automation.
