MICHELIN® X® TWEEL® UTV airless radial tires were developed to improve mobility in hazardous environments and conditions where vehicles are exposed to rugged roads, jagged terrain, shock and fragmentation threats from adjacent explosions, and even roadside Improvised Explosive Devices. In the face of these obstacles and direct battle damage, the TWEEL® UTV tire is designed to perform like a pneumatic radial tire, but with the robustness and damage tolerance of an airless tire. A MICHELIN® X® TWEEL® UTV tire is a single unit that replaces the current pneumatic tire/wheel/valve assembly. Once bolted on, there is no air pressure to maintain, thus eliminating the need to carry spare tires, tools, or repair kits while operating far from base. The full width polyresin spokes help dampen the ride for enhanced operator comfort, while providing outstanding lateral stiff ness for excellent cornering and side-hill stability.
