SIG SAUER Next Generation Squad Weapons Systems (NGSW)

The SIG SAUER designed NGSW system represents the most significant upgrade to squad level weaponry and small arms, delivering an unprecedented level of innovation and capability that will redefine the modern battlefield.  Each component of the system is designed to meaningfully advance soldier weapons technology to meet the emerging requirements of the U.S. Army comprised of:  SIG FURY Hybrid Ammunition, SIG-LMG belt-fed machine gun, MCX-SPEAR automatic rifle, and SIG SLX Suppressors.

SIG FURY Hybrid Ammunition (6.8 Common Cartridge): manufactured using a patented lightweight metallic case designed to handle pressures higher than conventional ammunition, resulting in dramatically increased velocity and on-target energy.

SIG-LMG (XM250): a lightweight belt-fed machine gun that is lighter than the legacy M249 and is built to reduce recoil and offers superior ballistic performance over each legacy platform.

MCX-SPEAR (XM5): built on the foundation of the battle-tested MCX platform with the added firepower of the 6.8x51 round. With familiar AR-style ambidextrous ergonomics designed for a seamless transition from the legacy M4/M4A1 featuring rear and side non-reciprocating charging handles, 6-position folding stock, ambidextrous fire control, bolt-catch, and mag release, adjustable gas piston, a lightened free-float M-LOK™ handguard, and a full-length picatinny rail for easy accessory mounting.

SIG SLX Suppressors: designed to reduce harmful gas backflow, sound signature and flash. The SLX suppressors feature a monolithic core construction, an internal multi-flow path to exhaust gases at a higher rate resulting in lower toxic fume inhalation, a sound-reducing baffle design, a flash reducing end cap, and feature a patented quick-detach design for easy install and removal.

The fielding of the SIG SAUER NGSW system will change the dynamic of military engagement and SIG SAUER is immensely proud to accomplish this with American innovation and manufacturing.
