Health & Safety

AUSA is committed to the health and safety for our exhibitors, attendees, partners, and staff as we prepare for the 2022 AUSA Annual Meeting from 10-12 October in Washington, DC.

We expect registrants to use the honor system during registration to attest that they are 100% vaccinated.

We continue to monitor recommendations from local health authorities and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for essential large group meetings and events.

Everyone:  (exhibitors, attendees, sponsors, partner, staff, and speakers) who is attending the 2022 Annual Meeting must be 100% vaccinated for COVID-19, according to the CDC:  CDC - Stay Up to Date with Your COVID-19 Vaccines

AUSA is NOT checking vaccination cards at the 2022 Annual Meeting.

AUSA will NOT be checking negative COVID tests as an alternative for entry.

Before reaching out to us with questions, please review this CDC guidance to determine your personal vaccination status:  CDC - Stay Up to Date with Your COVID-19 Vaccines.  To find your status, scroll down to "Adults ages 18 years and older" and select your vaccine.  Read the guidance under your vaccine to determine your 100% vaccination status.

If the the above information and the CDC guidance still does not answer your questions, send an email to AnnualMeetingOperations@ausa.org.

The host venue of AUSA's Annual Meeting, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, is one of the country's premier facilities leading the way in health, safety and technology investments for a safe return to in-person events:

GBAC STAR™ Certified – The Gold Standard in Cleaning & Disinfection

Events DC has earned GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation for the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Entertainment and Sports Arena and DC Armory from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC)®, a Division of ISSA, for its preeminent cleaning, disinfection and infection prevention strategies.

Kogniz No-Contact System – A Cutting-Edge Approach to Health and Safety

The Kogniz no contact, real-time multi-person detection platform is in use throughout the Convention Center. Kogniz measures the body temperature of groups of people entering the Convention Center and uses A.I. to factor in environmental effects on individuals. It measures tens of thousands of readings per hour from up to 16 feet away.

Keeping Surfaces Clean and Safe

In partnership with SurfaceGuard, Events DC have deployed its high-grade COVID-19 remediation and health and safety reporting system at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, as part of their venues’ health and safety reopening efforts. SurfaceGuard BIOPROTECT™, is a biostatic surface protection. It is a long-lasting product that bonds with the surfaces of our furniture and equipment to stop the growth and reproduction of bacteria.

The Highest Quality Air Filtration and Purification

Events DC has incorporated the use of Synexis Defense System in the air handlers. Synexis operates using dry hydrogen peroxide behind the scenes to provide additional sanitization – reducing the presence of microorganisms.
