The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Metrorail system is available in the downtown area for a base fee of $2.70 and increases by distance traveled. The Metrorail has a direct stop located within the Convention Center – Mt Vernon Sq/7th Street Convention Center – which is accessible via the yellow and green lines. The Circulator is a public transit system designed to take riders to the city’s cultural, shopping, dining, and business destinations including the Walter E. Washington convention center. There are two routes near the convention center as well as one that travels around the National Mall. At just $1 and with buses arriving every 10 minutes, the Circulator provides daily bus service throughout Washington, DC. There are several companies that provide taxicab service in Washington, DC. Taxicabs are easily accessible at the convention center, major hotels, and other downtown locations and attractions.
PENTAGON BUS SCHEDULE
Shuttle bus service from the Pentagon to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on a first-come-first-served basis with priority going to military and Army Civilian personnel in an approved duty status supporting the event. Buses will run every 30 minutes with the first bus departing the Pentagon at 0600 hours and the last bus leaving the Walter E. Washington Convention Center at 1730 hours. Shuttles depart/return from Metro Bus Platform U8 and the L Street entrance to the WEWCC under the skywalk.
CONGRESSIONAL BUS SCHEDULE
Shuttle bus service from the House and Senate to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on a first-come-first-served basis leaving from the Rayburn House Office Building and the Russell Senate Office Building. Buses will run every 45 minutes with the first bus departing Rayburn at 0830 and departing Russell at 0830 with the last bus departing the Walter E. Washington Convention Center at 1745.
